May's First Friday Art Crawl

 
 

Downtown Macon’s art galleries open their doors for later hours, special exhibits, artist talks, refreshments, live music, and other happenings on the first Friday of every month. Art lovers can hop in and out between galleries during the First Friday Art Crawl. Here’s some of what you can expect for May:

Macon Arts Alliance (486 1st St), 4-7 pm
The Macon Arts Alliance is excited to present our May exhibit, “Macon’s Watercolors: A Local Perspective”. This captivating show highlights the work of local artists Mark Ballard, Warren Griffin, and Tom Hays. From portraits and landscapes to still lifes, experience the diverse and unique watercolor styles of these talented creators.

 
 

The 567 Center for Renewal (456 1st St), 5-8 pm
Join us for the opening reception of "Poker Face," featuring artwork by Rhonda Miller. See the new exhibit, meet the artist, and enjoy light refreshments. Artist talk at 7 pm.

Green Light Gallery (452 1st St), 5-8 pm
Drop by to see "Transitions," an exhibit of mixed media works by Micah Goguen, with live music by Bobby Hall. Micah will give an artist talk and demo at 6:30.

 
 

Wesleyan College Leadership Lab (522 Cherry St), 4-7 pm
The gallery will host BREW with the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce 4:00-5:30 pm, and then stay open for visitors until 7 pm. Artwork by Marielle Plaisir on exhibit.

Gallery West (447 3rd St), 5-9 pm
A weekend show opening night featuring acrylic and mixed media works by Queso. Come meet this young, talented artist who has been honing her craft in the Macon area since the age of three and check out some of her recent creations. Complimentary drinks and lite hors d'oeuvres served.

McEachern Art Center (332 2nd St), 7-9 pm
Swing by the MAC on First Friday to view the release of the 2025-2026 Exhibition Season, shop a local artist pop up show, and sign up for an annual MAC Membership!
