About studio membership
The 567 Center Pottery Studio is equipped to provide part-time and professional potters and sculptors a place to practice their craft. Whether you're relatively new to working with clay or an experienced artist, we hope studio membership will provide you the resources you need to create. Membership includes access to tools, equipment, glazes, and firings. Clay used in the studio must be purchased from The 567 Center. With studio membership, you'll have your own personal storage areas on site to store your clay and work-in-progress between visits. Membership also includes discounts on all pottery classes. Come in, get dirty, make friends, and see what you can create. Members will also have opportunities to sell their work in The 567’s gallery (all works must be approved by our curator, however).
Pottery studio members will have access to the studio whenever The 567 is open to the public. The gallery is always open Monday-Friday, 11 am-4 pm (except for major holidays). The 567 is also open for various classes and other events on evenings and weekends, and pottery studio members are free to come in and use the studio during any public class/event. For example, if there's a Corks & Canvas or Kool-Aid & Canvas class going on in the gallery on weeknight or Saturday, members can come in and use the pottery studio downstairs. The class schedule changes from week to week, but members can check our events calendar to find out when the building will be open.
Our studio is still relatively new, and we will continue to add more tools and equipment this year. If you have specific questions about our amenities, feel free to give us a call (478-238-6051) and/or schedule a tour.
Studio membership is designed for adults, 18 and over, who have previous experience working in ceramics/pottery. If you do not have sufficient experience, you may be required to take one of our pottery classes before starting your membership.
The cost of membership is $40/month, or $425/year if billed annually.
To apply to become a member, e-mail email@example.com to set up an appointment. If you have any photos of your previous pottery/ceramic work, please include a few of those with your inquiry.
Our pottery studio is made possible by a generous grant from Knight Foundation.
