About studio membership

The 567 Center Pottery Studio is equipped to provide potters and sculptors a place to practice their craft. Whether you're relatively new to working with clay or an experienced artist, we hope studio membership will provide you the resources you need to create. Membership includes access to tools, equipment, glazes, and firings. Clay used in the studio must be purchased from The 567 Center. With studio membership, you'll have your own personal storage areas on site to store your clay and work-in-progress between visits. Membership also includes discounts on all pottery classes. Come in, get dirty, make friends, and see what you can create. Members will also have opportunities to sell their work in The 567’s gallery (all works must be approved by our curator, however).

There are two tiers of membership: regular members & all-access members. Regular pottery studio members have access to the studio when the gallery is open (Monday-Friday, 11 am-4 pm) and during Clay Studio Nights on the 2nd & 4th Friday of each month. All-access pottery studio members have a key to the studio, so they can come 24/7. All-access members also get additional shelf space to store their things.

Our studio currently includes an electric kiln, slab roller, extruder, 11 electric pottery wheels, a kick wheel, work tables, 15 dipping glazes and 40 brush-on glazes. If you have specific questions about our amenities, feel free to give us a call (478-238-6051) and/or schedule a tour.

Studio membership is designed  for adults, 18 and over, who have previous experience working in ceramics/pottery. If you do not have sufficient experience, you may be required to take one of our pottery classes before starting your membership.

The cost of regular membership is $65/month, or $650/year if billed annually. All-access membership is $110/month, or $1100/year if billed annually.

There is currently a waiting list to join the studio. To get on the waiting list, e-mail melissa@the567.org and let her know what level of membership you are interested in.

Our pottery studio is made possible by a generous grant from Knight Foundation.
