Pot People Pottery Workshop
January 31
Make a pot person out of clay in this fun pottery class! Kristin Streilein will show you how to give your pot personality using easy-to-learn techniques. After glazing and firing, you can take your pot home to plant. No experience necessary! $45 includes all materials to make 1 pot person ($35 for members). Open to ages 12 and up (ages 12-15 must be accompanied by a participating adult). 2-4 pm.
Pottery Wheel Date Night
Spend a fun evening getting your hands dirty! In this workshop, you'll get a taste of making something on the pottery wheel. Your "date" can be a spouse, sibling, best friend, or other favorite person--or come alone and have a "date" with art! No experience necessary. $50 per person, includes all materials ($40 for members). 6:30-8:30 pm.

Raku Vases
February 9 & 21
Level: Intermediate
Learn the basics of making wheel-thrown, Raku-fired vases in this 2-session pottery class. Heatherly Day will assist you with throwing vases on the wheel during the first session, with special consideration for the needs of pieces that will go through Raku firing. Then, in the second session, you will assist the instructors with Raku firing your pieces.
Note: This is not a beginner class. You must already have a solid grasp of wheel-throwing skills to take this class, and you may not take this class unless you have at least completed an 8-week wheel class.
The cost is $180 for non-members, $150 for members, and includes the Raku clay, Raku glazes, other materials and firing. Throwing will take place on February 9, 6:30-8:30 pm. The Raku firing will be on February 21, 12-3 pm. Glazing can be completed on your own time (if a pottery studio member), or on the firing day. Ages 18 & up
Bowls on the Wheel
February 23-March 16
In this 4-week class, learn how to create bowls on the wheel from start to finish. No experience necessary for this beginner-friendly pottery class. Heatherly Day will teach this class. Ages 16 and up. The cost is $140 for non-members, $100 for members, and includes all materials. Meets Mondays, 6:30-8:30 pm, starting February 23.
Cherry Blossom Luminaries Workshop
February 28
Create a ceramic luminary decorated with cherry blossoms in this in-depth pottery workshop. This class will cover basic handbuilding techniques including working with slabs, using sprig molds, and designing for ease in creating, glazing, and firing. Some previous experience working with clay is recommended. Kristin Streilin will teach this pottery class. $50 includes all materials to make 1 luminary ($40 for members). Open to ages 16 and up. 1-4 pm
Mug Painting at Sweet Eleanor’s
March 7
We're offering pottery painting at Sweet Eleanor's! Paint a ceramic mug with your own colorful designs. Even if you're not feeling creative, that's ok--our instructor will show you some simple examples to inspire you. Enjoy coffee and pastries from Sweet Eleanor's while you paint. After painting your mug, it will be fired in The 567's kiln and ready to be used at home 1-2 weeks later. Finished mugs can be picked up at The 567 Center. The cost is $25 and includes one 12 oz. mug and painting supplies (refreshments must be purchased from Sweet Eleanor's). Open to ages 10 and up (children must be accompanied by a participating adult). 10:30 am-12:30 pm.
Beginning Wheel
March 11-May 6
Learn the basic principles of making pottery on the wheel in this 8-week class, including cups, bowls, and more. No experience necessary! Johnnie Skelton will teach this pottery class. Ages 16 and up. The cost is $265 for non-members, $215 for members, and includes all materials and firings. Meets Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30 pm, starting March 11. The class will not meet April 8, and the last class will be May 6.
Cherry Blossom Plates Pottery Workshop
March 28
Learn how to make a decorative plate with cherry blossoms out of clay! No experience necessary for this beginner-friendly class. Sprig molds will be used to create the cherry blossoms, so no sculpting is required. Kristin Streilein will teach this pottery class. $45 includes all materials ($35 for members). Ages 16 and up. 2-4 pm.
Creations will not be glazed (painted) during this class, but you can come back during one of our Clay Studio Nights in April or May to glaze your creations (registration for Clay Studio Night required). Clay Studio Night usually happens on the 2nd & 4th Friday of each month. Fee for workshop includes glazing during Clay Studio Night.
