The All Hands Art Festival is a three-day event hosted by The 567 Center for Renewal. This unique art festival celebrates artists who work in clay, glass, metal, or wood. The festival includes artist vendors, demonstrations, an exhibition, live music, food trucks, and Art Olympics where artists can compete in technical competitions in pottery, glass blowing, or welding.

We want you to compete with us in speed and technique for a trophy of your media and other prizes. Competitions will be on Saturday, and people’s choice judging will be on Sunday, with the winner announced at the end of the festival on Sunday. All supplies and tools will be provided for the competition except where otherwise noted. No outside tools allowed. The competition will be outdoors, so prepare accordingly. Before the competition, we will contact participants about signing up for a time slot. Depending on the availability of equipment and the number of competitors, 2-3 participants will compete at a time during their time slot.

NOTE: The Olympics are not designed for beginners. Working with glass & metal can be dangerous, and you must have sufficient skill, knowledge & experience to compete. You must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Schedule of Events:

Pottery Olympics (12-2 pm): Throwing Blindfolded (5 minutes), Tallest Cylinder from 3 lbs (5 minutes), and People’s Choice for Creative Teapot (1 hour). Winner will receive a trophy and a $250 gift card to Sheffield Pottery!

Glass Olympics (2-4 pm): Longest Cane Pull, Fastest Fish with 5 Fins, and People’s Choice for Creative Pitcher (30 minutes). Participants must provide their own colors for Longest Cane Pull and Creative Pitcher. Pieces will be annealed, and participants may keep their pitcher after the festival. Winner will receive a trophy and a $250 gift card to Olympic Color Rods!

Metal Olympics (3-5 pm): Best Weld Signature (5 minutes), Best Bead (5 minutes), and People’s Choice for Best 18” x 24” Sculpture (30 minutes). For the sculpture challenge, competitors should pre-cut their metal at home and bring it with them to the competition for assembly. Competitors can keep their completed sculpture. Winner will receive a trophy and a $250 gift card to Northern Tools!

Cost to participate: All participants must either be festival vendors (a $65 fee) or have a ticket to attend the festival ($7). There is no additional cost to enter the Olympics.

Responsibility: The 567 Center for Renewal and Grand Opera House are not responsible for personal injury during the duration of the event. It is the responsibility of each participant to act in a safe manner. By participating, you acknowledge that there are inherent risks and will not hold The 567 Center for Renewal or Grand Opera House liable.
